AMsitter™ Introduction

This page has instructions for AMsitter™, a plugin that integrates Second Life's new Animesh technology with AVsitter™, the widely used pose system for Second Life.
You can purchase AMsitter™ on the Second Life Marketplace.

WARNING! AMsitter™ is not intended for use with furniture, and is instead meant for animations with just the animesh itself.
A workaround for using it with furniture would be to place is near it and set up adjustments in such a way that it seems to interact with the furniture, like a prop.

Inside the AMsitter Package

[AV]AMsitter script

This is the main script for AMsitter and does all the magic for you!

[AV]AMadjuster script

This is the setup script that interacts with AVsitter™'s adjuster. It is necessary to adjust your poses.

AMConfig notecard

AMsitter data is saved here, similar to how AVsitter needs AVpos. Like AVpos, it's intentionally empty.

idle

This is a default idle animation for the animesh to use when not in a pose with someone. This can be replaced by any other animation given the same name, but one animation called 'idle' is required.

Requirements

Since AMsitter™ is a plugin for AVsitter™, the requirements include any requirements for AVsitter™. Of course you also require AVsitter™ itself and basic knowledge on how to use it.
Additionally, basic understanding of animesh is a pre, a rigged animesh object and a viewer that supports animesh are required.

Setup

The basic setup is an animesh object that seats one avatar.

  1. Make sure the object you are using is an animesh object, rigged for use within Second Life.
  2. Under the features tab of the object menu, toggle the Animatd Mesh feature on.
  3. Set up your prim with AVsitter™. Use the instructions on the AVsitter™ website, or their GitHub page.
Follow the instructions until right before pose creation / adjustment. Make sure to leave in the adjuster scripts until you are done with your AMsitter setup too.
  4. Drop the following into the object:
    • [AV]AMsitter script
    • [AV]AMadjuster script
    • AMConfig notecard
    • Any animation named idle
  5. Position your Animesh object to the place where you wish to use it and confirm the start position in the dialog box that should appear.
  6. Return to the AVsitter™ instructions and set up poses as you normally would.
    • Creating or selecting a pose that's not yet configured for AMsitter will trigger an animation selection menu.
    • Saving adjustments in AVsitter™ will also save any adjustments to the AMsitter™ pose. Adjusting the AMsitter™ pose is done through moving the whole object.
    • Using the [DUMP] option in the AVsitter™ menu will also trigger a similar dump for AMsitter™ Paste the result into the AMConfig notecard.
    • As of version 1.1, adding AUTOSTART to the top of the notecard will cause the script to skip the start position confirmation, and automatically set the position it's rezzed at as the start.

Like with AVsitter™, you can optionally remove the adjust script [AV]AMadjuster. This is required if you wish to sell or otherwise your creation, as the adjustment script is no-transfer.
